The past few blog posts have been rather short so I'll try my best to be long winded for this post. Okay, my MST(Mid Sememester Test) is going to start in 2 days time and I haven't studied one single bit. I'm super fed up at myself for that. You see, we were given 2 weeks of holiday to study for these tests and I told myself that I have to set aside at least 1-3 days to study but for the 2 bloody weeks, all I've been doing is just playing. Not only have I procrastinated heavily but I also lied to myself time and time again. There's a very high chance that I'm going to fail all my tests. Man, this sucks. I'm left with 1 day excluding today, to study and I'm not going to waste my last chance to pull up my grades, I hope.Studying aside, my wishlist has changed dramatically. I figured that getting another graphic card, the HD2900XT, was not necessary as I've already got a X1950PRO which up till now, is sufficient for my usage. Also, to grind endlessly on silkroad isn't really possible right now as all my friends have stopped playing and you know, the feeling of playing alone totally sucks so the determination to level isn't really there. After all, it is because of Jiaren which lead to where my FlamingLoti is today. Games aside, I've already got quite a few people messaging me and asking me what I did for my birthday. Well, this year was special. Within the first hour of my birthday at 1am, Jasper started making weird sounds and vomitted all over the place. At first, we all thought he just ate something bad for dinner and hence, the vomitting but when he started licking every single part of the house, we knew something wasn't right. According to my sister, if a dog keeps licking stuff non-stop, it's actually a sign of discomfort. So we called an animal hospital, Mount Pleasant Hospital, at Stevens Road. Together with Jasper, we drove down at around 1.30am and got a doctor to attend to him. After answering Dr. Brian Li's questions, I don't know why I remember this China guy's name, we watched Dr. Li put a thermometer into Jasper's ass and boy, the sight of it was awful and Jasper hated it so much that I think he wept. Well, the thermometer went on to conclude that my dog had fever and because the fever wasn't the reasons for his vomitting and stuff, Jasper had to go for an X-ray. I couldn't go into the radiation room with them because the room was restricted to people above 18. How nice. Especially on my 17th birthday and 17 is like a mature or older age and I can't even enter a stupid radiation room. Bullshit. Consultation was $150 and that brought the total medical bill to a staggering $244, double bullshit! Reached home at about 2.30am and went on to play stupid Warcraft 3 maps with Jia Heng until around 3.45am before hitting the sack. While trying to sleep, I could hear Jasper licking the floor again and again, that poor thing. So I went out and tried to pat him to sleep but to no avail. Well, if you're wondering what I was doing on my birthday, there you go! Haha, although that is only the early part of the day. The rest was just doing plain normal stuff at home. Thanks a lot, don't forget to get your friends to join under you =)Okay, back to blogging. Recently, for some reason or another. The front page news is always about someone dying. The world's population is getting lesser and lesser, not drastically but it is still decreasing. People dying from tree branches, fallen tress, drowning. The list is endless. Although I don't know them. Condolences to the victim and victim's family. May God bless them and their family in time to come. After a long wait, I've finally got my laptop and it's a Lenovo! Frankly speaking, I have never owned any IBM or Lenovo products so I'm not very sure about this laptop but hey, the price was reasonable, the specifications were good and I was tempted. End of story. Here are some pictures of the laptop that I found on the internet, I can't get into Photobucket, as usual, so I won't be uploading any of the pictures I took of my laptop  The specifications of the laptop are as follows: Lenovo Y400 Intel Core2Duo T5500 (1.66GHz) 1GB Ram 120GB SATA HDD nVidia GeForce Go 7300 14.1" Widescreen Dual Layer Multiburner IEEE 1394/Bluetooth/3-in-1 Card Reader/2X1.5W Speakers with Chamber, 2W Subwoofer Windows Vista Home Basic 1-year warranty At only $1499. Isn't it a steal for that price? Haha, I don't know about you but I think it's quite a bang for buck. In addition, I think the exterior is rather nice and sleek. Something that other brands offered but not within my budget. For the record, my budget was $1500, I saved 1 dollar! Now, if I used a Credit Card, I would've blasted over my budget beacuse of the 2% extra charge. Thankfully, I don't have one. =P After purchasing the laptop, I did a "Lucky Dip" at the Lenovo booth hoping to win an Ipod Shuffle which was "Ball 1" but unluckily I picked up "Ball 4" and guess what, I had the option of choosing between a MapleStory starter pack or a WoW starter pack. The thought of MapleStroy's installation CD flashed into my mind as the starter pack so I decided to pick the WoW starter pack and boy, was I suprised with what was inside. First of all, they gave me a laptop carrier, which I so wanted, together with WoW and Burning Crusade CDs. Those 2 are worth at least $100, I think. I can't imagine what I will get if I chose the MapleStory starter pack, I'd probably get the free installation CD that can be taken at PCBunk. Phew, so for that, I consider myself lucky. Yeah, right! =D Last but not least, I have to comment on that stupid salesperson at Lenovo. Well, he told me that he was from Temasek Poly and I didn't really care but that didn't matter. First of all, he kept on telling me how many of this and that he sold the previous day and that I should buy it too. I mean, if other people buy that piece of junk, I'm supposed to buy it too. He was desperate but so what? Secondly, when I asked him about the Front Side Buses(FSB) of the chips, he just smiled and said that all the specifications were written there. Maybe it was too hard but why couldn't he ask his colleague? They're like super free. Obviously, I only ask questions about stuff that aren't in the brochure. So why the hell is he asking me to look at it? Seeing how desperate he was, I took pity on him and bought from him. Which meant he got the commission and he was damn happy. Haha, indirectly, I just made someone's day. I don't really hate him but I just wished he took the effort to know what he was selling rather than making a fool of himself in front of me. Okay man, that should be all for today. I need to start downloading some school softwares so I can use the laptop for tomorrow's lesson. May my Lenovo live long! Tata! date: Saturday, June 2
